Question eBay query

Ive just sold my xbox 360 with games on eBay and i have notice that the winning bidder is from Estonia. Now i listed the postage as "Post to United Kingdom" and in the listing i wrote £25 to be added to the winning bid to cover postage and packaging. I already turned someone down via email about posting to Spain. Now how do i stand? i Cant be arsed with posting abroad, especially something like an xbox which could get damaged, plus I'm suspicious sending it to Estonia. Any advice please

Send out a second chance thing if ebay still do it. Or email the second highest bidder and

offer it to them for the winning fee.

There is an account setting somewhere that stops foreign bidders from bidding on your account.

Yeah I thought i had done that, obviously I hadn't. well he's been back in touch, as I've given him an estimated price for posting, £60 which is crazy, it's half the cost of what it was won for! Hopefully that will put him off.

I run a post office, £60 is the cheapest way to insure and track to Estonia. Cheers anyhow.

Post office is generally not best way to send items over 2kg overseas and you can probably send lot cheaper by courier. BUT would recommend not sending it to Estonia unless you get payment by bank transfer.

Even payment by bank transfer can go wrong, and the money retrieved - months after the money has arrived.

Never post something abroad IMO.

How safe is it with paypal? Like you say, I'm not 100% happy posting abroad, though not everyone is dishonest

You are safer with bank transfer than paypal.

You are safer with a Western Union transfer than with Paypal.

No-one but PayPal is protected when it comes to fraud.

Edited to add:

If someone abroad is that desperate to get the item, get them to send cash through the post. There is no other way I'd deal with someone abroad.

I think I'm going to relist it, can't be arsed with the hassle, it only made the reserve price anyhow.

To be fair to Paypal I have heard of three instances were family have been ripped off and on each occasion they were fully refunded very quickly.
Never had a problem myself but then again I have never been fleeced.

I would say your family were lucky. I bought something for £210 (and paid through paypal) which was not delivered.

Well within the allocated time I instigated a dispute. PayPal allowed the seller to take the money out of Paypal immediately. Once the time limit had elasped for the seller to deliver the goods/appeal against the dispute, I just got a message saying "Sorry, we could not recover the funds. Go screw yourself". They would not even refund the paypal fees.
