Man critical after being tasered....
In Australia a man was tasered by police, sadly he had been sniffing petrol and burst into flames.... oops!

If we deploy CS spray onto a ******, we have to inform taser officers as that will cause them to burst into flames too.
Albeit an invisible one.
But still, if a criminal was on fire, would you lot be bothered?

Ar the end of the day the guy ran at officers carrying fuel in his hand and a lighter. He got tasered because he was believed to be a threat. The only other choice was a firearm. The guy despite warnings continued and so they tasered him and he got burnt despite the officers best attempts to smother the flames.
A shame but that guy could have easily backed down and chose not to. He now has to live with the consequences of that decision. I don't see what else the officers could have done. At the end of the day they are doing a job and they have to try and ensure they uphold the law without risk to themselves in carrying out that duty.
if nobends want to run ar them with petrol in their hands and having sniffed it, then they are going to learn the hard way about their stupidity.

This is pure speculation of course but I reckon the average Aussie, on hearing the initial reports, would indeed be having a pop at the rozzers but upon learning that the victim was from an Aboriginal community be more "Whatever...". Not that I'm saying some Aussies are institutionally racist, oh no

I still believe that tazers are inherently dangerous and that there should a very good reason to use them. They would not have realised this time that he was going to catch fire though.

FYI, they even have a non sniffable (???) brand of petrol called Opal. Unleaded bien sur!

In fact, taser training says not to deploy it near anything flammable, as a caution.
