A TEACHER is battling to save her career after accidentally giving pupils her own sex tape.
Crystal Defanti, 29, handed children in her class a DVD meant to be full of memories of the school year as they went on summer holiday.
But she had edited it wrongly - and had included a six-second sequence involving herself on a sofa in the final cut.
Parents of the pupils, aged between 10 and 11, were horrified when they sat down to watch the DVD with their kids.
The DVD includes a scene with the children in a classroom sharing stories.
One dad said: "It goes from my son straight to her on the couch.
"My son's reaction was, 'Dad, is that Ms Defanti?' We were up until midnight doing the birds and bees."
Defanti, a teacher at Isabelle Jackson Elementary school in Elk Grove, California, called parents the next day, crying and apologising.
The dad added: "All she could say was that there had been a horrible mix-up."
The Elk Grove Unified School District says they are investigating the matter.
But legal experts say it's unlikely that the teacher will lose her job.
Ken Rosenfeld, a lawyer based in nearby Sacramento, said: "It's stupid but it's not a crime.
"Is it something that she should be disciplined for? Absolutely, but fired for? "She didn't intend for this to happen."
School officials say a new, cleaned-up DVD will be sent to pupils.

What a total **** up,Kinda reminds me of that scene on American pie when the dad is fixing the sons walky talky's,and pics up the wrong signal then he can hear them 2 girls talking Dirty to each other,and he hides in the garden from the wife to have a sneaky listen.I bet will be a few dad's who will make a copy of them 6 seconds and hide it from wifey ,

Wasn't there a story last year in the UK about a teacher who borrowed a school video player and when he returned it left a porno in it.

When it was next used in his class it started playing! He was suspended. Not sure what happened after that.
