25 seconds to get onto the thread and another 10 to post. Bit of a joke really.
They did do a poll about site speed a while ago, didn't they? It was pretty slow then as well. The speed did get a bit better for a while but it's back to 'please lobotomise me, it would be less painful' slow, again.

Just enjoyed a nice cup of tea before returning to see if the page had refreshed...

Mods say everthing is fine... from the same school of spin as Gordon Brown then

This site has become pathetic - crap, and ruled by a retard with multiple personality disorder...

good job - and well done to the 'team'

Eventually edited to say that I fully expect to be banned for my daring to comment

15-20 second delay for me to get onto threads and this is at 2am so hardly a lot of site traffic!

I admit the last few days have got considerably worse on the slowness side. As with Clarebabes I thought it was my PC at first until I came across this thread!

Perhaps this thread should be joined up with:

Same here...I'm off to B & Pew to buy some Rawlplugs and will then sped the rest of the day boring two 4" holes through engineering bricks with a knackered (or soon to be) TCT core drill.

Now now, its only the internet. Whilst its technically not an official comment, I'm sure an IB tech bod could draw up some long winded statement which more or less could be summerised by my intial comment.

Anyway, I've never asked; does anyone there work on a Sunday?

I would give that as punishment to the person in charge of maintaining site speed, it would be lightning quick from then on

I thought it was a little quicker today, certainly not as bad as last night, that was painful.

I agree with the OP and all else who have complained. I have mentioned it before more than once.

I think it could well have a bad effect on SN membership in that it will put people off. It takes a very long time to go through just one of the forums now. Never seems enough time left to look at anything else.

You guys have short memories........

SN has had its slow periods every few months for years. Going back to Lord de Banke's time users would complain and then there would be an apology with "just bare (sic) with us" comments. It then got quicker and then went off air while it was plugged into a new server.

When I switch on, the number of ad routes that my system has to go through before reaching SN is staggering. I am but a layman but pretty sure that the ads are largely responsible. Bloody nuisance though. dl

This site is always a hell of a lot slower than any others I use, it has not always been this bad, although there may have been periods of slow service years ago, this site is now consistently slow. Now it's just a complete and utter p1ss-take. But still I post
