Skool sports day cancelled
Thought it was too good to be true
Every year on sports day the weather is always iffy. For the last past 2 years we have had lovely weather then as soon as sports day looms the weather changes.
The parents usually end up sitting on chairs with the back legs sunk 2ft into the ground on the school field

I used to ride my bike without a crash helmet on. Fell off loads of times, but never once did I fracture my skull.
I walked to school without a high-Vis jacket on, yet never go run over.
I always played conkers. Yet never lost an eye.
Kids these days will grow up to be a bunch of pussies.

Ah yes, but you'll have skin cancer now. Won't you?

My daughters sports day was yesterday. She came third in both events which I'm not sure is an improvement on last year where she came first and last (she realised she was losing and threw a strop - "she aint spoilt ur somethin ur nothin" )
Weather was very good. Last few years its been touch and go. It just started to rain when I picked her up from brownies and the lightning show last night was probably the best I've ever since. Went on for well over an hour and the forks/bolts were so close and clear. Got soaked but got some great footage.

Nothing wrong with a bit of danger, it's all part of the fun. I don't think I was remotely interested in doing anything when I was a young lad unless there was a chance I could die.
Like being pulled along on roller blades by a push-bike and wearing shorts, that ended badly but at least I learnt not to be such a silly f*cker. Kids these days don't know what danger is.
