Default What percentage change will Labour have in the EU tonight

Just wondered if anyone wants to hazard a guess at the over all % loss of the vote Labour are going to get tonight.

UKIP seem pretty confident that they will take a good position on the whole thing.

And if its something like a -50% change for Labour, will that email doing the rounds get its 71 signatures in the HoC

I would like Brown to stay until an election is called so he can be voted out of office and NL out of power - He was not voted for by the people and it seems only right they let him know how they feel by getting shot of him.

I do notice Brown hasn't mentioned his great "Do not judge me now judge me on my future performance" speech he gave some 20 months ago!

Think he will get a right good bashing but for some reason I cant help think he will still be backed.
Maybe they are just playing this term out and when the tories get in they will re group with Milliband leading the pack and try to make a credible challenge in a few years.

Sky News's take on it all..

If Labour hold on to a 30% share of the vote it would be a great result for Mr Brown, but given the party's disastrous showing in the local elections it is unlikely to happen.
Tim I definatly agree with the Milliband but, seems obvious to me somehow.
As for hanging on, im not so sure. Seems there is a movement there, I just think they are waiting to see how bad these results are, then making their move. Im prob totally wrong, but I can hope eh.

Paul, im with you all the way, he might have invited himself in, but I would like a piece of the vote to get him and NL out.

Seems a very split thing right now. Labour doing well in some areas, but not so well in others.
Very early days as ever, as it seems people have forgotton how to count, even though the turn out is apparently really low.

BNP and UKIP set to fair the best of any, cleaning up some nice gains along the way.

Overall Change is...

Labour - 8%
Tories - +1%
UKIP - +1%

Share of vote so far %

Tories - 28
Labour - 14
Lib Dem - 15
UKIP - 18
Other - 24

Labour doing remarkably well ..... considering.

Quite why the Tories are not so far away in the distance, considering the conditions which Labour is operating under, is quite staggering.

And quite pleasing in some ways that lots of voters still remember how bad the Tories would be for the country .... we have had it so good, for so long, under Labour that it will be hard to give that up for a bunch of Toffie Nosed Eton Boys!

Tis quite a suprise, but early days yet. Honestly not sure what to expect from it, but not reading too much into the early results.

You could not resist the second part eh, this was meant to be serious

The morning will have the full pic. But so far, Labour in 5th place with overall share of the vote.

I expect absolutely nothing, certainly not over night.
In the long term, who knows.

What I do know is, im sick to death of the attitude of a lot of the recent high flyers in current UK politics.

However tonight is about Europe, and what effect it will have on Brown's attitude that he is going nowhere. Lets wait and see.

Having lived in Spain and the UK, I can tell you that as far as I noticed, it made absolutely no diffference. I still paid tax, I still subsidised the slackers.

When the Uk tax man tried to tel me I'd not contributed enough for 4 years, I referred him to my Spanish NI number, and it made up for it.

They are all out to grab what they can and I wouldn't trusta single one from any country or political party. I see it more as going with the lesser evil, which is rather sad.

Thats the sort of statement that might have been made by JP the previous deputy PM. Does not go far to strengthen your argument either.

Flash is most unlikely to stand down regardless of the vote, unless he is forced out by his own side.
