Default Anyone going to see Oasis?

I'm off to Manchester in about an hour's time for the Oasis gig in Heaton Park. Gonne be a very wet day but hopefully the weather won't dampen spirits. Anyone else going today or tomorrow, or already been?

Yep, still one of the best live bands around and the fact the gig on Sunday is in Manchester should make it rather special.

Why? Because this is the first time in 10 years they've left Holland Park to return home?

I doi't give a damn where they choose to live, they are a Manchester band and all those who live in Manchester and have know the music scene here for the last 30 years will know what I mean.

I tell you the day I beome a millionarie I will be lving in Perth, WA, but that doesn't mean I won't always be ridiculously fond of Manchester.

You have to remember Oasis got popular just after the Hacienda closed down and there was, for the first time in 15 years, a lull in the Manchester music scene where as for once London was buzzing - why wouldn't the most popular band in the country at the time want to go where the action was.

Anyway slag them off if you like, I will just enjoy the gig.

Well last night's concert was pretty damn good, especially as the rain held off from when we arrived until the end of the night. I have seen oasis live a number of times from as far back as the historic knebworth weekend upto, and including, last night's home coming concert. I think they are now back to their original and best sound and have a catalogue of songs to please all oasis fans, both new and old. They pulled out all the old fav's last night mixed with a few of their more popular recent numbers and it was awesome to be amongst 80,000 like minded people caked up to their knees in mud all going mad for it!
