Paid for something using PayPal and the seller never sent the item I'd bought. Escalated the dispute to a claim which I have won. They haven't been able to recover any funds from the seller (surprise, surprise). So I've lost £217. They don't even refund the PayPal fees.

A nice little earner for thieves through PayPal then. Wish I'd realised it was that easy.

My first and last time using PayPal.

Anyone know how I can find who this person is and recover my money through the courts? PayPal won't release their details - which are probably fake anyway.

i once had the police call me over a £30 headlight that i sold that was in dispute, basicly it dissapeared in post


so if you make a file with the police they will investigate it in the end, maybe a phonecall from them too him is all that will be required

It didn't even occur to me that the police would get involved. Had a look on my local plod's website and they actually do investigate this kind of crime.
