It was all publicity for his services and that of his friends including promotion of a special wax with his name on it.
No one would be that **** unless it had a means to an ends.
Oh and I think he was newly single at the time so I suppose he had all the time in the world.
Never heard of it being nicked though.

"Once inside i asked the salesman if i could have half hour on my own with the new car so i could fully inspect it..."

Anyone else see that documentry, i think it was called strange love, about men who have sexual relationships with their cars....

and for some reason this :

"Now the car was ready for washing...I decided to wash in pure reverse osmosis water zero ppm in the dunk bucket and 50/50 pure and hot water in the shampoo bucket...Shampoo used to day is Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II and a pure sheepskin wash mitt which i thought id try after over a year using a special silicone free sponge and obviously grit guards in both buckets...Wheel brushed used are my 2" , 1.5" and 1" sheepskin drumsticks.."

reminds me of the bit in american psycho, where the guy describes his morning routine

Theres a much easier way of keeping your car spotless... don't use it

Buy 2, use one, store one. for the £1000's he'll save in cleaning products and kleenex, he could buy another VXR

I gave up looking after my scoob years ago - just after it picked up its first car park dink. Its got loads more now! I just give it a once over every month, wouldn't make a decent thread or video. Maybe would have to edit the swearing everytime I poured water over my feet

He is a car detailer and what's that car detailers do, clean there cars.

He is best mates with Paul Dalton who runs Miracle Detail - Car detailing - Paintwork Correction and the point of the thread was to showcase the kind of work these guys do for a living.

The thing is his Astra VXR Burg gets driven hard like all cars do, so dont go away thinking its a trailer queen.

I remember seeing this thread yonks ago. It's so over the top, fair play to him though if that's what he does.

I try to keep my pride and joy as clean as possible all the time and I get really pissed when I spot new scratches and dinks in the bodywork, but at the end of the day it's a car, not an indestructable tank, and that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I like my car being clean, i give it a wash, wax it, perhaps a couple of ties a year I give it the full treatment, the door shuts are clean, the wheels are clean, glass spotless but once done its easy to keep on top of but that is just bordering on obsessive compulsive, its an Astra ffs, get out there, batter it and throw a bucket of water at it when its filthy, as for his services, who needs or wants that, Ferrari owners ? if so then they should have one, the coolest Ferraris and driver I ever saw was a 355 Competizione that came into a car park when I was getting out, it stunk of hot engine and brakes, it was filthy and you could hear it cooling down, the driver got out, dressed like a tramp on a bad hair day, didnt cast it a backwards glance.

To me this over detailing is like getting a dog and putting bows in its hair and shampooing it, then trimming its coat like a Poodle, all primped and ponced up, too clean to get dirty when it should be chasing a stick thrown into a river, charging through hedges and rolling in sheep ****.

I guess a lot of effort went into this which I have respect for.

But, why go for a white car. Details look much better on dark cars, dark blue or black, even maybe red or silver, but white? All those layers of wax and TBH it does not look all that good IMHO.

I'd love to have seen the conversation with the dealer/vauxhaul as he tried to reject the car for that tiny paint spec on the roof

Credible.....right to the point where they did the detailing in a garage with a few floods & tubes ....

Theres no way they could have spotted any holograms on the car with that lighting

Not bad, Some Polish fellas sown the road who do a pretty good job, the plus point to using them is they make you toast while you wait!
Can argue with that.

that was his problem brian. even brand new from the dealer he found loads of imperfections in the paintwork. so buying two and storing one wouldn't have been good enough for him. the guy obviously had some form of OCD. I like a clean car like any other guy but this attention to detail is well into the realms of serious mental illness.

This is the only thing you need to know about this thread, and the owner of the car.

I quote from the thread;-

and after discussion we realised that without looking really hard it was not visible to the eye without knowing it was there so i accepted it as rejecting the car now would be difficult...

I detest cleaning anything ( being reasonable of course) - theres nothing wrong with making something perfect of course , but clearly impossible if you havent made it

- youve got to be more then slightly ghey to actually enjoy the cleaning imo
