Default Silverstone F1 parking

I was browsing the thread on F1 tickets and saw one of the websites offering tickets were also selling carpark passes for 49 euros..I then checked the silverstone website and it said parking on sunday for the grand prix is £25.. This surely cannot be right £25 to park a car....
I have 2 tickets which are worth £215 each(got them free through work as there is no way I would pay anywhere near that) but if I had paid £430 for 2 seats I would not expect to pay £25 just to bloody park...
I am hoping someone will come on here and tell me if you have grandstand tickets parking is included cause if not I dont know if I will go and before anyone calls me a tightwad I am not that interested in F1 and only considered going cause the tickets were free...

you will have to pay for parking. we camped last year (and same again planned for this year), so paying £30 per person for the weekend (and there were 5 of us), we had 2 tents and 3 cars on the site.....cheaper than parking in one of the car parks and a damn sight cheaper than some of the other camp sites. down side is it was a 20 min walk or so

Shirley; that won't cover you for the space to park the helicopter though

Correct, the helichoppers have to drop the corporate plebs off and return to base, waiting for their pickup later

last time I went as a vip I drove in and parked my car on a patch of grass behind the stand on copse corner, no idea if I should have been there I had to do a lot of beeping at pedestrians to drive in, no one said a dicky bird though .

Cant think why you are moaning when you have got grandstand tickets FOC though. Why not just be grateful for your good luck?

It is because I am not a big F1 fan and also that I think the whole thing is a big rip off..£25 to park a car when the majority of people going have paid an obscene amount of money to see what is more than likely just a line of cars following each other for 60 laps( unless it rains then it might actually produce a bit of action).

Then why not let someone who actually likes F1 use the tickets? Surely there's people at work who would appreciate them? Maybe do it as a charity auction. That's got to be better than being a whiny ungrateful bitch.

Yes to be fair I understand your point and agree with you as well on the unfairness of the carpark charge.

I think you may find the race a bit more interesting that you think, especially at Silverstone. The racing is far closer than it has been and with the slower ones improving, it might be a lot better than it has been in the past.

Mate, if all its going to cost you is £25 to get into the grand prix then think yourself very lucky! Go and enjoy it

Me and the misses will be camping for the full weekend (fri - mon), seats in Luffield A stand and allows us to sit anywhere during fri/sat = £270 each! then about £25-£30 per night for camping (hamilton fields camping site).

I know when you look at it that way then £25 is not alot of money.. Just wanted to have a moan about the rip off parking charges..

There was a free park and ride sevice from Hinton Airfield ( just outside Brackley ) last year,so might be worth finding out if the facility is in place this year.
I just sit in me back garden watching the choppers going overhead - looks like a scene out of "Apocalypse Now" !!
