Default Faulty Ipod

I have an old ish Ipod Nano, it's a 2gb model which has suddenly frozen, I plugged it into the laptop to change some songs etc and it initially connected but then froze, the screen is now frozen on the main menu and the battery charging icon is in the top corner even though it's not charging or plugged into anything.

I can't reset the ipod through Itunes or use anybuttons on the ipod, does anyone have any ideas on how to sort it out?

I think if you hold both buttons down for ten seconds, if not just one of the buttons down for ten seconds(ish) then it resets it.

Hope this helps

if it doesnt work then simply let the battery drain and recharge.... it happens to quite a lot of them.

Just tried that, makes no difference, guess it will go on Ebay as spares or repair unless anyone else comes up with something?

I have an 8gb Nano anyway

As above, the system reset for your model should do the trick. One of the girls in the office had the same problem the other week and this sorted it. itunes would not detect it either.

There is a problem with battery life in older iPods. I had a gen 2 then just died. I got a replacement battery and fitting tool from ebay for a few quid and it worked again for maybe 6 months.

Yep, try that ^^^^^^. I've done it with two different nano's now and it worked both times.

Have both been fine since.
