Default Jerky

Ok who here has made some, i've bought some very lean beef steak and used the following ingredients.

Blossom honey, sugar, morrocan rub, seasoned salt, sugar and bbq marinade, my fingers currently have a sweet, sticky and spicy bbq smell to them, this should be yummy!!!

i bought some from Sainsbury's a while back and thought i was gonna die after eating it. More to the point the jerky tasted like it died and decayed in my mouth

Never been a fan of cold meat, but I keep meaning to do a small batch to try with the next load of venison I get.

You want to see the recipies on the archery (bow hunting) forums I read!! Talk about overload. Smoking it also seem sto be highly popular both by itself and before being made into jerky.

Sterilizers heh haven't seen that one done for a while.

Well it was finished late last night, my god it was gorgeous nothing like the shop bought stuff, sweet sticky and spicy bbq flavour to it, very moist and tender, beef steak is the ideal choice for it only lasted for five minutes though.

A mate of mine is currently making biltong which is South African dried meat and spices. It tastes great but takes about a week to chew through a strip

That name for it always sounds a bit rude to me! Looked good enough to eat though.
