New Arrival-warning watch thread !
After moving two watches on, I have been able to finance and make room for this.
Its HUGE.
GlideLock System is excellent, coupled with a more standard divers extention.
Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA, a keeper.
Size comparison against a BIG Ball Hydrocarbon Engineer Chrono.

Yoza, how much will I need to pay for a decent vintage Seamaster in your experience ?

It depends where you go.
From as little as £300 to maybe £650-£750 for a good one with all the bits.
Do a google search on watch fairs local to you and go and mooch.
Vintage watches are like vintage cars, nice but they need lots of care and attention, and parts can be hard to come by.

Not sure, about £1400-£1600 as it is.
Its not mine though, and has had a hard life by the looks of it.
Has been polished/callibrated/and re-sized so its ready to go back.
Its just not me..

Cheers, yoza. That's a great review. As you have one of these, what's your opinion?
Incidentally, Jura's online price is over 200 quid cheaper than Ernest Jones' online offering.

***** I love them.
I have three of them, a Classic Hydrocarbon Engineer and a Hydrocarbon Engineer Chrono and a Hydrocarbon Trieste.
I rate them highly, up there with all the big guns, Rolex/Panerai/Omega/Breitling.
The lume has to be seen to be believed.
Up until my SDDS arrived the buckle/clasp on the ***** was unrivaled.
Jura watches are competive on price but more importantly to me when I bought mine was their 0% finance deal, buy now worry later..

I am sorry to hear about that, here is me bulling them up, and you have shot them down in flames.
What model have you got and what is the issue ?
Ie "stopped ticking" will it not start with a manual wind or shake ?
How old is it ?
Is it being repaired at you local AD or did they have to send it away ?
A guy in work watch "stoppped ticking" it was a Breitling SuperAvenger, when I looked at it the crown was out.
I asked him what was the problem, he said, its stopped, I pressed and screwed the crown in and it started, he thinks Im some sort of magician...
Some people dont read manuals.
I suggested he sells it to me and buys a Quartz watch.

you can get 14% cashback from Ernest Jones via quidco....Quidco - Ernest Jones not sure if that makes it cheaper than Jura...

I do like the Ball Engineer watches but unfortunately its just too big for my wrist.
I'm looking for something instead of my current mid size Omega Seamaster, what does anyone suggest ?
Did look at a mid size Rolex Yatchmaster but any other suggestion are gratefully received
thanks
Richard

The Ball Classic is not HUGE, its thick but only 39mm DIA, I think your Omega is a 38mm.
They are designed to fit the contour of your wrist, as the lugs are deeply curved.
Try a Classic on, you may be surpised.
