Safety Camera Partnership.......
Some of you may remember a thread I started some three weeks ago, asking about referral of a speed seminar?
My eldest got done for 35 in a 30 while looking for work, accepted the ss, then went to work in Holland, and the grabbing gits withdrew the offer, and asked him for £60 plus 3 poits.
I tried to get them to refer it, but they politely declined, and refused to enter into any communication with either me, or my son, about it, insisting, instead thet he pay his fine or go to court.
I contacted my MP
He wasn't too happy with them, esp when I pointed out their insistance on being known as a SAFETY Camera Partnership, and that a 22 yr old bloke is a prime target for a seminar
Strange............after my MP's input, they are now willing both to negotiate and enter into communication
I THINK he threatened them with referral to the Justice department

Now firstly I agree with the basic premise that speed cameras are being used poorly by some authorities.
However I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this response from your good self. May I remind you of your rather hard-line remarks last night on prisons being too easy and how criminals should be made to suffer.
Now how do you square those comments with these?

There is a huge difference between a skanky theiving drug addict who cries when told she has to leave "costa de HMP" and a 22 year old driving licence holder looking for work who went over the speed limit by 5mph.
By not giving up easily the OP has had the offer reinstated.

Since when was doing 35 in a 30 zone a prisonable offence?

If a child did something wrong would you punish them by sending them to bed with a big bag of chocolates, a weeks pocket money, all night tv and a bloody pjama party with their mates!
The OP has fought on behalf of his son because there are two types of punishment available for the lad to take despite the police changing their minds. So he took it further and succeeded. The result is still the same, the lad will still be punished.
