Is there are Napster type replacement?
#1
Just been thinking recently how much I miss the regular music downloads from Napster. Is there another site of the same type where I can download music regularly for free?
Call me a cheapskate if you like.

Hi,
Try Morpheus. You should get it from:
http://www.musiccity.com
but I couldn't get in. However you can download it from cnet:
http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-1896420-100-6525083.html
I have been using it since napster went down, and find it a lot better. You can see how popular it is, 51,546,236 downloads...

After trying AudioGalaxy and the like, i found eDonkey to be the best by far (www.eDonkey2000.com).
You can get music, movies (i got Monsters Inc a month before it hit the cinema!), playstation games, software and more **** than you can shake a stick(or whatever) at !
Give it a go....

I know eDonkey2000 is Mac compatable.
It's also useful that you dont need to complete the download in one go as it sources chunks from anyone on-line with the file you want and downloads from several sources at once.

I'm using Kazaa and very happy with it - the great thing is, unlike Napster, is that when you re-connect it carries on from where it left off and hunts for the same file elsewhere if the source logs off.
