I don't know what I am getting this year. Perhaps a bottle of wine and flowers from my son, and some cute gift from my daughter. I will pretend that I was not expecting anything. But the reality is that I am. They better get me something, or I shall make very basic dinner tomorrow night

I may even just mention Mothers Day in front of them with one excuse or other just in case they forget.

My sister and me went out together and bought our Mum a carefully chosen selection of shrubs, perennials and seeds for her garden. I always think that plants are better because they last and last and, every time you water them you think of the person that gave them to you
