Is the space shuttle/space station visible tonight?
Looked out by chance about 7:30 tonight (in Bedfordshire) and saw a bright point of light passing overhead. No flashing lights like a plane and looked much higher and was moving slower than a jet. Wondered if it was the space station/shuttle or a satellite maybe? Any space bods out there know the answer?

Cheers guys. Also looked at this site - Space.com: Space Shuttle, Space Shuttle Discovery, Discovery Space Shuttle - and found that when I saw what I now know was the ISS/shuttle docked they were actually doing a space walk, how cool is that!

Dumb question, how the hell do you work out the direction to look in and elevation?
I an aware of a compass, so if they say 32 above W where am I looking ?

Saw it today around 19.49, mahoosive star darting it's way across the sky, just sort of appeared as they said it would, nwn 66degrees elevation sure enough it was there, when the remaining light there was hit it you could see the solar panels twinkling, they must dwarf the station itself.
Awesome sight, i'll be grabbing the binoculars tomorrow for another looksie.
Hmm maybe i can buy one of those laser torches to light the sucker up.
