If you mean a speed camera detector,i have a old snooper which goes off if you pass anything with a laser ie automatic shop doors, temp traffic lights,i also have a road angel+ which is spot on, no false alerts from automatic doors ect so that get my vote!

Does it alert you to mobile camera vans and hand guns?

Also, what is the best standalone detector??

Are they using some kind of new radar in Gatso's these days? My snooper detects K band radars but has not shown a Gatso with a radar fitted and working for a very long time now.

I got rid of my Road Angel years ago - false sense of security and useless against scamera vans. It is also pretty irrelevant in built up areas as sticking to 30 is generally an no-brainer concession

If you are making safe progress where conditions permit, nothing goes more hand-in-hand more than heightened observation coupled to a healthy dose of paranoia; I even slow down for builders having a nap in lay-by now . The missus also carries a telescope but sports a black eye

Been using radar detectors for years now Nothing substitutes sticking to the speed limit and that big round thingy on the dash but.......on the odd occasion my concentration has wavered and my right foot a bit heavy, I use a Road Angel Navigator. Not the cheapest unit when I bought it 5 years ago but very accurate and combines navigation and speed trap detectors all in one. It even knows when the camera is on the other side of the road or facing the other way unlike my old Morpheous which went off at anything !!

I pay a yearly subscription for the detector but it is worth it and the navigation is pretty good, though not as easy to use as some TomToms

Road Angel Professional: Connected, Navigator 9000, 7000, 6000 - Road Angel Compact - New Road Angel Speed Camera Navigation GPS Device - accident blackspot and speed camera alert device Road Angel Navigator
