Thats nothing, I dare say with 400K you could buy a small village round here.

Probably two if they are close to one of the local oil refineries

Contrast the house in the OP with this one I looked at on Saturday.

4 bedroom semi-detached house for sale in Keens Lane, Guildford, GU3, GU3

£440k, and it doesn't even have a garage FFS!

Looks a bit dated to me (first post), needs a bit of working doing to it - and on a house that size that quickly adds up!

Is that a solar panel right on the top of the roof?

One of my first thoughts were I recognise some of that furniture.

"Hangs head in shame"

Probably explains why its for sale.

Hodgy - John Bray owns John Bray estates in Rock!

I know because they flogged my inlaws place for them.
Wife's grandparents (who know JB very well) land backs onto his garden.

If things ever go pear shaped, we are officially allowed to stick a static caravan in it and live there!

Hodgy - I will get an update. Was over there on Sunday (wife's grandparents also have a gaff in Porthilly - about 300 yards from John Bray's house). Is your mate one of the directors? He might well be the bloke that was involved in the sale of the inlaws gaff. Can't remember his name though - it was a while ago! He'd remember it though - caused quite a stir back in those days.

Hodgy - that's the same bloke! He's not all that big though...

Ask him about Sandy Cole... Bit of a headache involved but he'll remember it well.

Just seen this on the website (at the bottom) - £3.5m for a PLOT of land!

This was at almost 8 years ago. Bought by a city bloke that threw monster money at it.

Sorry - was just being daft. I find it funny when people say "so and so is a big surfer/runner/etc" - they mean "well into it" but I always picture some giant surfer/runner/etc! A friend of mine says it all the time for anyone that's done a sport more than twice!

I wouldn't buy it, it's only rated in band E for energy efficiency!

Good stuff -we (my family) moved to Daymer in 1989 - mainly because my dad was a fanatical windsurfer. He did that kind of stuff but nearly splatted himself in near double mast height waves a while back and it put him off a bit.

Looks like Alex knows his stuff too - pretty hairy conditions.

I learned the basics of windsurfing (gybing, waterstarting, etc) but just couldn't be bothered with all the kit.

What I notice is that the estate Agents have now got the time to put 23 or 28 photos into the property particulars In the good old days (about 6 months ago ) they could only be bothered to do 2 because the property was sold before the particulars were printed

I keep my eye on properties in Cornwall and have seen some houses for sale now at substantially less than 8-12 months ago.

We looked at a house in Pendeen in October and it was up for sale at £350k, i've had an email from another estate agent this weekend and they have valued the same house at £250k.

[QUOTE=Matteeboy;8551291].

If viewings are anything to go by things are defiantly beginning to "unstick"

We’ve had more viewings in the last 3 to 4 weeks that we had the entire backend of 2008

One swallow and all that – but as I’ve repeatedly said the world doesn’t stop turning
I think decent properties will begin to shift – all imo off course
