Unhappy Job Losses....

**** me it's looking bad out there now isn't it! Every day I check the news and there seem to be thousands of layoffs being announced - quick glace today and we have;

GM cutting 10,000
RBS cutting 2300
Bentley cutting 220 and remaing staff get 10% pay cut
UBS cutting 2000
JJB possibly cutting 800
Yesterday Nissan cutting 20,000 etc etc!!

I think now we are starting to see the mass lay-offs as firms have been 'hanging on' to see if thing's improve, but as it's just getting worse and worse the axe is starting to fall.

Anyone on here been laid off recently, or got job under threat?

But Sir Fred said if bankers felt they were not paid enough, they would leave.
But if all banks reduced their pay and bonus schemes there would be no benefit to leaving would there!! do I have to think of everythimg ???

Could be another 1 million jobs go before the end of this recession. It's hitting hard around here now. The biggest employer in the town where I work could shed 850 jobs and over 1500 have already been shed in the area.
It's worse than the recession we had in the 90's already, here anyway
