Question Can I still sign a passport application?

I have one of the professional qualifications that is required to be able to sign a passport application, and have been asked to do so.

I no longer work in that profession. Does that matter? Or should I pass it over to my wife to do, who has several professional qualifications?

AFAIK it's as long as you hold a registerable qualification for the profession.. Retired medics can sign them

Well I only said "professional" since that's what it says on the notes with the application.

But if you aren't a responsible person, I doubt you'd get a drinks license?

They'll find out why you were struck off and lock you and the passport holder up for a long time
