Default Is this a SCAM!?

Im selling a mobile phone on ebay, but also on gumtree for 200 quid. I got an email today from gumtree asking if I accept paypal. I told the Lady yes, but will need the 4% fee to cover. She has just emailed back asking for me to post abroad and she will pay me 270!?? Not sure about this as she can always log a paypal dispute after she's got the item right? Any help please guys...

Thanks

Tucker

If her address is not paypal verified and you send it, expect a chargeback.

If in doubt ask them. Wouldn't use them, personally: I've seen too much of their 'customer service' to trust them.

since its you thats selling i would not let it go till you have the funds in your account, whether its paypal or a cheque, if it was a cheque even then i would keep it till it cleared, i just bought a gearbox from FAT BOY on here and dont expect it to be delivered till my cheque has cleared in his account, things are very easily cancelled nowadays

i'd personally prefer £200 from a bonifide uk buyer than 270 from a "potential" scammer. but thats just me.

hope it works out ok

Post it abroad eh, would it be to the pastor or vicar of the local church which she attends by chance? IMHO another scam.

Willing to pay way over the odds = trouble

Say, yes she can have it for £270 ..... send a cheque - in 14 days you will send the Phone - sounds fair enough. Just see what happens You could get £270 or you won't hear anything again - you win on both counts
