Wink Another Watch thread, but other end of the scale

Wave Ceptor G Shocks - or whatever they are called?

I've got an old G shock that I wear when doing stuff that would render other watched liable to damage.

Its been great, but its getting on a bit and contrary to what the blurb suggests is not totally indistructable

I quite like the look of this to replace it:

Casio G-Shock Watches - G-Shock Wave Ceptor

Which can be had on the web for £68.

Accuracy guaranteed, Solar powered, etc, etc, etc.

Anyone got one? Thoughts?

Like the look of that traser

Are they on line only, or do any retailers carry them, do you know?

Devil - I have two G Shocks and cannot fault them!
They have both had tonnes of abuse yet keep on going.

This is a TERRIBLE phone pic (lens was covered in cack!)

The WaveCeptors are very good too.

I've got a solar powered wave ceptor. It's not my everyday watch but if I know I'm going to be working in the garage or something I'll put it on.

It's got a motion sensor in it and puts itself into sleep mode to save the battery if it's not being worn and the battery always shows as fully charged. The auto update function is ace for a lazy begger like me and is always spot on.

I would defo get another if this one every gives up.

I have a waveceptor chronograph, not a G-shock. Solar powered, always correct, 5 alarms, really easy to adjust ±1 hour when travelling abroad, water resistant to 100m. Highly recommended

Cheers for the feedback.

Had a wander round the shops and picked one up. Got a discount too when I mentioned "on line retailers being significantly cheaper than RRP"

Smaller than my existing G, fits the rist better too. Not as big as I expected either. Nicely made. More features than I'll need.

Was cool watching the hands move as it set itself to the right time.

Nice metal box and well packaged.

Indeed

The watch (not taken by me)

The box (not mine, one off the web with different watch). Better than the usual crap for a watch like this though

And a couple of pictures I did take

In the dark

Ok, but not in the same league as the super luminova of its stablemate

It does, however, have a really cool LED light that lights up the dial and hands (no picure, sorry)

Devil - that's a good one.
I'm a lifelong G Shock fan and cannot be ar5ed with expensive watches that need servicing and are as accurate as an estate agents property market forecasts...

Unfortunately I have a liking for both

Having said that (and on the assumption that having updated its time at 1.00am this morning the Casio is entirely accurate) my "expensive" watch is gaining about 2 seconds a day, which I'm happy with.

But, back to the G shock. Have to say, I'm liking it a lot. Much more so than my old one which is one of these
