He was totally in the right - get professional or get lost.

That outburst was nothing compared to a lot of other actors though.
You think?
Bit of a shame really, he may be focussed and a great actor although his outburst is hardly professional and his ranting on and on is just plain sad.

The guy (Director of Photography i believe) made a mistake for which apologised, Bales still went on and on and on...

I feel there maybe more to this than meets the eye. even so Bale needs to remember he is just another person and yes, his sh*t stinks just like the rest of us

I'm surprised he sounds so american, he spent some of his life here in Haverfordwest.

He did lose it but then he is doing his job and some numpty gets in the way. You never had an incident in work where you wanted to lay someone out? The reason why most of us don't is because we'd lose our jobs. The lead role is hardly going to lose his job.

However as Paul said, true professionalism would have been to accept the apology. When filming was over speak to whoever was in charge and say that if the guy turned up on set tomorrow I walk.

I don't care how professional or focused he is there is simply no excuse to speak to another human being that way unless they really have done you direct harm. If he was truly professional he'd have taken the guy aside and calmly explained to him what he did wrong, why it was careless/costly and how he can avoid it in the future. There's just no need for that outburst.

Completely childish and unnecessary outburst. The brown river from his mouth did nothing to emphasise the point he was trying to make endlessly and boringly either. Showed a lack of ability to express himself effectively. He really had only to make the point once in a civilised manner instead of behaving in such an objectionable manner. The other bloke apologised straight away as well!

Is it professional to shout at a crew member infront of his peers for 3 minutes non stop, ignoring all attempts to appologise and threatening to kick his ar*e.

All I can say is he was lucky this was in America, I cant help think if he talk to someone on an English set like that he would only be good to play the part of John Merrick afterwards.

Well if ANYONE spoke to me like that at work one way or anther it would be there last day under that employment.

that is complete bollocks

if this happened in the uk the spazo would no doubt have shut up and then posted on a forum about how he "nearly took him to the cleaners" while in the background filling in a claims direct online form for compo

What a door handle. Reminds me of someone else (also famous) who tried a similar thing qutie a few times with people, then one day he picked the wrong guy and got decked. Give it time, it will happen.

Love the bloke's work, but this is completely over the top and hypocritical!

His outburst was even more unprofessional than the mistake that generated it. Should it not also be the director that reprimands people on set, not the actors?

What we have there is a bit of Holywood Diva syndrome.

People are far too quick to make excuses for such aggressive rudeness.

Manners make the man!

There is an idea of a Christian Bale, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.
