Damn shame, I wonder how far the likes of Church's Shoes are behind Barratts.

All the premium makers are doing well, most of their sales are over seas (esp the far east) these days... Ironically the Chinese massively look upto hand made English shoes as the best in the world and wearing a Chinese pair is a massive social downer over there (and accross all of SE Asia).
Shame that people in the UK don't think the same!
I'm all for supporting my local industry, apart from some Ballys and my Uggs all my Shoes/boots are handmade in Northampton, probably got 20+ at the moment

barratts aint going, they have gone into administration to restructure there debts and renegotiate its rents. the media are blowing it out of proportion and have probably done more damage to the company than anything

Barratts dont manufacture shoes though do they; they retail cheap and nasty shoes. Theyve been owned by Stylo for about 30 years doing just that.....
