I've found a heavy punch bag to be more use to be honest, cheaper too !

Setup your own target points and time yourself.

the slam man looks like it will be more fun, and keep me entertained for longer, dont really have time time to go down the gym, as if im not working the mrs is, and in between looking after the little one.

so i was thinking of a cross trainer to start off with, then i remembered these things.

Its a novelty .. lasts maybe a week .. then you get bored of hurting your hand on the thing

Timed rounds on a punch bag will do you more good and give you more of a range to work on.

hi mate,
about 6-7 years ago my mate bought a slam man so we both
set it up and filled it then used it !!!
well honset opinion they are best suited towards woman .
even light hits (more for speed) were toppling it over.
so he took it back and bought a one similar top half looking but with a coil spring in the middle this was much better,
somthing like below.
