I need some binoculars so can someone recommend me a good pair that won`t cost the earth, its to watch some motorsport with and i may occasionally use them to watch some of the wildlife in our garden.
It would be a bonus if they will reach to the fit birds house across the road, i`m not sure her **** would fit in the lenses though.

lidl did a set of bresser 10x50 binos for £15. they are just rebranded meade binos. great lenses. i was sceptical at first, so chanced a buy. they were reviewed by the president of my astronomical society who did his research on them an found them exceptional value for money. so much so i bought another pair.
these deals only come up once in a while so dont rush out to spend £100

I have a pair of these babies Canon 10 x 30 Image Stabilising Binoculars with Neck: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo and they're very, very good I bought them after Chris Ryan did a review of them on the Gadget Show and said that he liked them so much that he bought a pair for himself
The price varies enormously so have a look around, I think Warehouse Express are doing them for around £233.
I use mine for motorsport, plane nobbering and looking at other things that are a long way away

Motor sport, no bigger than 8X, 6 or 7 may be better. Plenty out there, jessops were doing some good Nikon 8X40 for half price (£50). The first number is the magnification, the second is the size of the object lens in mms. The bigger the number the brighter the image, as you may not be using them i low light you can go for a pair with smaller object lens and save a bit of cash. Its a case of you get what you pay for. But if you use them infrequently you dont need the bells and whistles.
