Anyone see the BBC2 Porsche doc Thurs night?
Seems they made a right killing in the stock market. They stuffed up 'hedge fund' traders by buying tons of VW shares low and then not selling back to these hedge fund 'dont really own the stock gamblers' until it was really, really, REALLY high! They made more money in a few days stock trading than in 8 years of car making! (Eu 8M). Shame this kicked most of our pensions in the bollocks too...
Of course many of these fat cat hedge fund managers are now crying foul - however it just looks like they are little better than people putting a billion on the 4:15 donkey in Aintree to me, and then moaning thatthe horse was cleverer than them!
Always been very sceptical of this overpaid 'city' industry, and so I still safely stick to my principle of not letting anyone (other than me) mess with my hard earnt - let alone a young flash tosser...
(However the motors still look like jumped up Beetles
and, BBC reporter, the manufacturer is actually REALLY pronounced 'Porsche-uhh' - as all your German contributors hinted correctly throughout; dumbarse Brit!!!)

Some German's made some money, by buying into a German company, in Germany, where you do not have to declare share-buying as you would be required to under UK law.
They bought shares, they made money, it was legal. I must be missing the point

On my behalf, it has nothing to do with that. I think we are all in the stink because too many people "make money" for very few people.

**** em all they do is filter cash away which effectively dilutes everybodys pension! I am glad it backfired on them.
If you tried to sell a car without a V5 you could get prosecuted as you don't own it. For some bizarre reason you can sell shares if you don't even own them ffs!!!!
