I use the PNC, but you'd be better off using the search engines from RAC/AA/DVLA/Insurance registers.

Nope. Surely you should know if your car is on the road. Or are you wanting to know about a vehicle which no longer belongs to you?

If the latter, pop down to the Post Office, for £3, they'll supply all the details you want

You can search the insurance database to see if it's insured, if it is it wil tell you so.

If you want to know who owns it, then you need to go down the Post Office route to get the info, should you wish to contact the owners,

Since when did obtaining data about public domain info breach the DPA?

The Govstapo openly advertises sites where you can check the data

requested.

No personal data is revealed, therefore it does not breach DPA.

Too much "misinterpretation"

It's part of our codes of conduct. As you don't know who my employer is, or what my job is, I don't think you are qualified to comment on what information I am allowed to disclose to third parties.
