Dell Sales
I just called Dell to enquire about a new system (I want a system that will run four 24" monitors at the same time), and I ended up talking to an Indian lady who had no clue what I was talking about. She said "You want to buy four old monitors?!"
Do they have people that understand English, and know computers working there, or should I just look elsewhere?

I tried complaining about a non credit card payment, even though one of our little indian friends apparently set one up with me the month before.
All I wanted to do was speak to someone who could, A) understand what I was saying, and B) Understand what the **** they were saying.
I ******* HATE INDIAN ******* CALL CENTRES.
**** SAKE.
I'm off to find a cat, and give the ****** a good kick.

And Dell wonder why there sales have gone down last year.
I used to resell dell products, buy them, add my software and sell them on. Now I wouldnt touch them with a shltty stick. Not because the products are bad, their not, but because the sales and technical support is now farmed out to some black hole in banglabai.
They cant understand you unless you speak Bangla english, they havent got a clue about the product range unless its a standard product and as for technical support, well lets just say if you do tech support you need to know a little about computers because if something happens which isnt on "the script" then your fooked!
The worst though was Netgear. I had to call to get a returns number and it took me 40 minutes to give him my company address.
me: Thats "Cheshire"
Netgear: "okay that is being c...h...a...h...i...a...r...h....e"
arrrgghhh!

Just seems a bit mad to have them on sales lines, as they have basically lost a potential sale due to not undersstaning me (doesn't instill much confidence). It's different for technical support because the customer has parted with the money by that point. I'm looking at it from their perspective here, in that it seems like a strange way of doing things. Who am I to question it though, they sell a huge amount of computers!

I think Dell are great for more ordinary sales though. We configured this system Im using now on line. And it was built and depatched within a week. I wonder if the OP should have used a more specialist company than an "off the shelf" Dell type though.

Yes, you might be right about that. I have been doing quite a lot of research on multi-monitor systems, and actually if you put a couple of hours effort into it you can find out a lot online.
It looks like I can get the system I need from Dell, but now I am put off by their technical support. You can purchase extra support though where they actually come out to you. Might be worth doing..

lol you should see some of the examples of spelling that our indian call centre come up with !!
When I spoke with Dell a couple of years ago I have to say they were actually very good, maybe a little quiet, but helpful.
Shame everything has turned like this
Strange thing is, customer complaints are down!! because no one wants to speak to them to complain.

I absolutely love Dell equipment.
But will NEVER buy a dell product ever again.
The service is absolutely appauling IMHO.
As stated above, call centers in every country who's first language is anything other than english. People following scripts, so there no way to have a matter slightly out of the ordinary dealt with. Deliveries not met, and then told that my order was taken by a more important customer!!!
I detest poor service, especially as in this day and age, we no longer have to put up with it, as there's plenty of choice out there.
