Does she need to produce her documents within 24 hours help please
Someone crashed into the back of my fiances car on thursday and then drove off. I told her to report it to the police as it was a hit and run and she gave them the details and they asked her to produce her documents within 24 hours if she can.
The problem is the car is a company car and they have not sent her insurance to her yet so would it be ok to go there on monday instead of today or will she get into trouble because she failed to produce them.
Also we moved into a new house 3 months ago and she gave this address but her licence is at her old address ( her Parents ). When we go to fill in the form do you think it would be best to put her old address on the forms as i no you can get a fine for not having the right address on your licence.
We are going to change this asap.
Thanks for your help

p.s. The police aren't normally fussed about the address on the licence if you've just moved. I had this and they just asked that I fill it in at the station. They even sent it off for me

Give them a call see how urgent it is maybe. Remember my hit and run (car was parked on the drive) they NEVER told me to produce. maybe seeing a local WPC helped at the ttime.

You have 7 days to produce your docs and 24 hrs to report an accident.
When you phoned up they would have advised that you bring your docs with you within 24 hrs to report the accident. You can't report it over the phone it has to be in person.
You should give your current address, not the old one. I wouldnt worry about the address error.

As FP has said (he would probably know best)
24 hours to report a hit and run / accident involving personal injury
then 7 days to produce documents.
If insured, police can check the MIB database for confirmation.
