Ive found one in Hillsborough/Middlewood in Sheffield for £30,000. It has an integrated garage and two bedrooms: ex-local authority, but its a pleasant enough area.

Those pre-fab mobile homes must be back down to £25k or less by now surely?! I remember they were selling at £100k in a lot of places! Some poor sods must be stuck with a big mortgage on a cardboard box with little value!

I think all the houses in Wales are built on top of old coalmines, they get mortgages.

That one is only a couple of hundred yards down the hill from where my brother lives - I walked past it over christmas!!!

It will need some work doing to it - gutting at a minimum I would say - and the location is not fantastic.
Troedyrhiw is also a bit of a one horse village - nice if you like that sort of thing but shandy drinking home counties chaps would have a definite culture shock!

Mid-Wales gave me the answer to a burning question I had for years.

The question was, "Where do all the old cars go?" ......... I saw LIDL's car park FULL of cars, the newest of which was a clapped out 'N' Reg!

Some of the grey villages are scary ...... mind you, there are grey villages in Cornwall where poverty is obvious - despite the beauty of their surroundings there is real hardship.

That's a pretty prejudiced and offensive post in my opinion.

As it's by the King of Scoobynet, it will no doubt be allowed to stand though.

Just banter, pete being pete.... etc...

More likely I will be banned permanently for pointing it out.... bye...

lol

Probably the materials its constructed of.

We've looked at a few houses in Cornwall where a mortgage was unavailable on them and its because the walls where made of a material which was basically compressed mine spoil, if i remember rightly its called Mundic. However the property might have concrete rot or other problems such as subsidence!
