Cash and Carry.
Does anyone here use cash & carries - Booker, etc - for there basic shopping?
I'm self employed, and they keep sending me application forms. The nearest one is only a couple of miles away. I just wondered if there are any savings to be had over LIDL prices .
Cheers, Nick

I belong to both CostCo and Makro. If you know what your local offers are in Supermarkets they do offer quite a bit of saving on normal things: I.e. toilet rolls, kitchen towel, bin liners etc...

I use it for the big stuff ie washing tablets, fabric softener, toilet rolls, dog food etc. Wouldn't use it for everyday shopping but thungs you use a lot of it's great. Also get 5kg bags of pasta etc because we eat tons of the stuff! Provided you can store things it worls out a lot cheaper buying in bulk.

I have Mackro and Booker. They offer some deals, if you buy in bulk you can save a few quid. Beware some of the Booker own brand stuff....
I get diet coke 24 for about £7 and MASSIVE packs of bounty.
I tend to use the supermarket for everything else now days. The bargains are getting fewer.

costco and the like are IMO pretty ****e, any place that lets in general members of the public is not a true "cash and carry" IMO they are just supermarkets who deal in bulk and dont have as much "chintz" going on
search out some of the "proper" trade ones and you will see a reduction in prices.
the local one to me is called "lowries" and most of the local shops use them to buy stock.
goto a costco and its full of family's buying large bottles of listerine and buy one get one free toothpaste lol

it is cheaper to buy most lagers in supermarkets nowadays, i know the deals that have been going on recently have meant that its cheaper to buy from a super market, then buy from the cash and carry
no wonder the local corner shops are taking a proper hammering in trade
