Question Mobile phone signal boosters

Hi all, I struggle to find decent reception for my mobile phone in one part of my house - the old part(new extension is fine) - and I was wondering if anyone has experience of the so called 'Signal boosters' that you see on the net.

These vary from a strip that you put under your battery, and which, as far as I can see, will make no difference whatsoever to mini antenna type things that cost a little more.

Does anyone here actually have a working 'signal booster' that didn't cost a fortune? If so - Where can I buy them, and for how much?

Thanks in advance

How about a UMA phone? Utilises your wireless LAN when in your house (if you have a wireless LAN for broadband)...

Orange sell them on blackberry and nokias and I can confirm they work very well

Basically uses your broadband connection to route the GSM call over your provider to the orange network and then onto its destination

Very cheap... phones start at about "free"

I had a similar problem, but then discovered that a mate's O2 phone worked fine in all the rooms - so bye bye Vodafone & hello O2
