Mobile phone signal boosters

Hi all, I struggle to find decent reception for my mobile phone in one part of my house - the old part(new extension is fine) - and I was wondering if anyone has experience of the so called 'Signal boosters' that you see on the net.

These vary from a strip that you put under your battery, and which, as far as I can see, will make no difference whatsoever to mini antenna type things that cost a little more.

Does anyone here actually have a working 'signal booster' that didn't cost a fortune? If so - Where can I buy them, and for how much?

Thanks in advance

Thanks alot for that - they have exactly what I'm looking for. Will have a look around first before I decide to buy though.

How about a UMA phone? Utilises your wireless LAN when in your house (if you have a wireless LAN for broadband)...

Orange sell them on blackberry and nokias and I can confirm they work very well :)

Basically uses your broadband connection to route the GSM call over your provider to the orange network and then onto its destination

Very cheap... phones start at about "free"

I had a similar problem, but then discovered that a mate's O2 phone worked fine in all the rooms - so bye bye Vodafone & hello O2 :)
