What are my options??
Its a long story but I'll cut it right down.......
A family member borrowed 4K December 07 and was paying it back Jan 08.
After lots of bull crap didnt get it back, so here is were im at now, I got a grand back Oct 08 and 200 cash a week later the only way I was getting the rest was a standing order to £200 a month 1st month 200 went into my account Dec 08 didnt
He has come up with some crap blaming the bank.
Ive just had enough now i dont need this crap.So I want to pass it to a debt collector will they take this on?? Amount owed is £2600
Oh by the way him and his missus have just come back from New York shopping
Can I have some constructive comment

To sell it on you would have to use a very shady leg breaker type debt collector.
The only options you appear to have are 1, be as nice as possible and try and tease the rest of the money out of the person.
2, Write it off and put it down to an expensive mistake.
I have been were you are now and its left me deflated, not so much that I lost the money, More that a family member had effectively stolen from me.

3) Submit your claim at your local courts or do it online, all you would need is another family member to say the money was lent, but I doubt it would get that far, once a claim has been served on him it would likely **** him up, even better pass the claim over to a Solicitors, them will claim all there expenses from him and so cost you nothing

you are wasting your time in life. forget it and move on.You at least now know money and family should not be mixed. the courts are also not a great idea.

Its a fair sum of money that he has worked for, I wouldnt just try and forget about it. Why are the courts a bad idea?

Proof of amount owing should be enough, try the court route first unless you can mention that you will be going down that path and try to arrange something with him again and if he defaults do the court thing.
