Dunno if its been done before, cause the search is broken.

But, what the most irritating reason to be pulled over by the cops.

1) Speeding, 38mph in 30 zone, country village at 3am, when the only person alive is farmer giles and his cat...bob. Really annoying thing was that the pair that pulled me over we scratching one anothers ***** on the opposite side of the road to where their car was. One guy tried to stop me by standing in front of me and waving. Moron. They caught up with me about 2miles down the road, in the 60zone. The guy writing the ticket must have been 16, I swear... Still gave me 3 points and a 70quid fine though.

2) Mate of mine got pulled over for having "the possibility of some rust" on one of his wheel arches....

Haven't they got better things to do???

i was pulled 14 times in a year when i was driving my xr2 (Dont start) 11 times for friendly chats,
once for doing 35 across a 60 mph roundabout while been in the correct lane and indicating at 4 am,
once stopped for a drug search that was the second day of having the car,
the last time that that year in the xr2 was while going into london to the motor show from heathrow we were driving behind a police car so we wernt doing anything stupid it was a 60 we were doing about 45 as that was what the cop car was doing too much traffic to bother pulling out to overtake anyway we wernt in a rush they pull in to a bus stop then pull back out and flash me i stop 2 armed cops get out of the car one asks me where im from i reply york, he replies "so why the F**K are you down here" i said the motor show he replies" oh so where you going to park?" jesus did he need the semi auto !!

Then i changed the car to a primera i thought nice and safe then the first night of owning it someone reports me stealing it apparantly the alarm was going off the lot. so i ended up been surrounded by 2 police cars and 2 vans and about 15 cops, i wasnt so bad but they had one mate laying on the floor and 2 in the back of a van !!
I suppose i should just be glad they pay interest up in york. But please pick on someone else !!!!

Stopped for "speeding" as I was crawling past a cop van on a dual carriageway. "It's quite obvious that a vehicle of the law is doing the limit, therefore you are breaching it." Of course I had no comeback as my speedo wasn't working, and he could see it reading zero (I was driving a convertible with the roof down); "and it's obvious that your speedo isn't working too."

I often thought about the first half as I overshot cops travelling at 40 in a GLF area. (And I bought a new speedo cable too).

Prat.

Wonder if there are any chief constables reading this thread?

Does anyone think that the cops get somekind of bonus for the number of convictions they make?

Getting pulled for doing 36 in a 30 on my mates TL1000s.
I couldn't go any slower in second without stalling / transmission slap etc.
Got full lecture about going fast in the wet .. grrr
Normally I deserve a tug when I get one.

Don't forget that Polic eOfficers are prevented from speaking to members of the public uncivilly (or is it incivilly?) - Search www.coi.gov.uk under Police complaints authority.

There is at least 1 incident where a copper was disciplined. Whether it gets that far is another thing, but lodging a complaint will at least get the copper flagged to senior officers that (s)he might have an attitude problem.

"Looking like a student" (BMW 2002 - 15 yrs old)

"Looking too young to own that car" (Rover216 - 3yrs old)

"Driving too slowly on a motorway" (I was doing 30 in a car that was decidedly ill 100 miles from home)

Countless times just for being a motorcycle courier

Got pulled up twice in ten minutes, one night many moons ago. The 2nd lot of coppers had heard my reg (was being checked by the first lot) on the radio so decided to pull me. I was really happy about that .
One of them could see I was annoyed and tried the friendly approach, chatting about the motorbike I was on and the one he used to own. I nodded and the proceeded to tell him that he was talking b*ll*cks because yamaha never made a bike like that.

I do have a lot of respect for the Police (now - older and balder). It would be nice though if they could deal with the more serious problems out there.

It just proves however you get to$$ers in every walk of life.

Talking

For "obeying the speed limit" doing 40 in a 40 limit!

Apparently I "looked suspicious as most drivers do at least 50 - 60 on this stretch of dual carriageway", even the copper laughed when I said that I was hardly likely to do more than that with a patrol car behind me...

How about being pulled each end of a country lane for breathlizer test.. Lane was about two miles long, has no turnings and no properties on it..

Second time I just took the ****...
P:"Good Evening Sir, have you been drinking"
M:"Yes"
P:"How many have you had ?"
M:"About five"
P:"Can you step out the car and blow into this bag"
M:"No"
P:"Why?"
M:"Because that was last week"
P:"Are you trying to be funny sir"
M:"No, you just didn't ask when I had been drinking"..

Question

"Looking too young to own that car" (Rover216 - 3yrs old)
Well Puff, at 3 I don't know how you could reach the pedals, and I think that was quite reasonable action by the copper involved.

Friend was driving from Scotland back to London for New Year's Eve. Got stopped just after the border and the conversation proceeded something like this:

PC: Good afternoon sir, have you been drinking?
Friend: Yes
PC: Really sir?
Friend: Yes, I've had at least three drinks today.
PC: Would you mind blowing into this bag sir.
Friend: No point.
PC: Why not sir?
Friend: Because I've had a drink of tea a drink of coffee and a drink of orange.
PC: Very funny sir.

Friend thought this was hilariously funny at the time... until he got stopped by every single English police force on the rest of his journey. I believe they added something like three hours to his journey!
