Thumbs up Mountain Biker Bargain?

Claud Butler D24 Cape Wrath Mountain Bike for £270.

My brother had a Claud Butler Racing Bike in the 60's - I had a Dawes - these were quality makes back then.

Claud Butler Cape Wrath D24 Mountain Bike (2008) - £269.99 - from GO Outdoors.co.uk

Might interest someone?

I had a Cape Wrath in about 2004 and that was brilliant in its day.
For the money I would say you cant go wrong. Pretty good spec for the money. Just dont expect amazing things from it.
Gonna be "quite" heavy, and will never amaze you, but all round, for the money. Worthy

I was 20 stone when I had my GT Aggressor too, but had a much better riding experience from when I got my Gary Fisher
Will make a difference to you, trust me

Have to say, it does indeed look like a good deal, the brakes alone are 90 quid, I doubt at that money you could find better.

Good spot Pete !

Like I say, I had a Cape Wrath when discs were first out. Come to think of it, it must have been about 1998-1999ish
Was a great bike back then, so hopefully they have only improved.

A friend had his Spesh nicked from his shed. The next day he is coming out of a local shop and sees his brakes on a bike. Grabs the kid. Kid says he is gonna call his dad, mate says DO IT!.

Long and short of it, dad was ashamed and dealt with lad. Bike and all parts returned. But thats sheer luck.

Sad really as a good bike can enhance the fun of the ride, but finding it gone.............. I was gutted, especially about the damage to the car.

My stumpjumper fsr expert lives int the house with my girls

Bikes are too easy to nick and strip/sell to leave anywhere. If you're looking for a commuter then don't spend too much our you'll not want to leave it anywhere.
