Question Who Has 2 Weeks Off?

With their last day yesterday?

Reports say that many small firms have chosen to shut for the whole 2 weeks.

I will be in until 12 Noon on Xmas Eve and then back on 5th Jan. 2009

Same here I prefer the 12 noon / 24 Dec trip to the pub, it's almost a tradition

No time for lounging around for me either.

If you want to earn the really big bucks you have to put 100% effort in 52 weeks a year.

Finish on the 23rd and off until the 5th. First time I won't be on call for 8 years although I could still get called in the event of a disaster.

Thanks for the best wishes, may I wish you and yours all the best too?

I work for a happy amalgam of 2 US Companies and 1 UK Company. I doubt that the UK Taxpayer would like to see us on a long holiday as they pay our wages in the final analysis

No Xmas Bonus or Gift either - you tight fisted lot!!

I have the bank holidays off and that's it. And I'm on-call for Xmas and Boxing Day. As for Xmas Eve, I would imagine I'll be at work until at least 4pm. From 7am.

Finish 5.30pm Xmas Eve, back at 5pm Boxing Day. But Boxing Day it's triple time for 7.5 hours work when I'm only actually in work for 3. Plus the time that we're actually there we'll be doing jack ****. Might even have a beer or two in the office at the time. I do like my job sometimes

Effectively finished yesterday - contactable until Christmas Eve, but then not back in the office until 12th Jan (fly to St Lucia on Christmas Day ) - then back for a week and then off to Vegas for 7 days with my company. So most of January spent out of the country which is a bonus

Despite going back in I am well relaxed, few beers, had a brew with j4ckos mate earlier, its so nice just mooching around with no particular agenda, took the lads Nitro car for a tune, took an hour and a half and was happy to chill chatting with the lads in the shop.

Day and a half in work, assuming the Christmas punters allow me to pass without killing me when on my bike, going to be extra vigilant for afternoon wine mummies and mornign after dads !
