Default Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Some of you will already know of this but come this monday a lot of folk are going to buy jeff buckley's version to stop x factor getting the top spot, they shouldn't have covered this classic imo.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (single) - MP3/WMA/ DRM AAC download from only 49p (59p @ Amazon 79p @ iTunes) - Page 2 - HotUKDeals Forum

I still prefer the Rufus Wainright version: in that happy kind of way I would like it played at my funeral!

Loads of people have covered it - fantastic song, IMO. The trouble is it needs a more characterful voice, one that sounds as if it's about to break because of the emotion, not that Celine Dion-esque pile of sh1te.

considering it's been covered and released circa 122 times another few ain't going to make a difference to me, I used to despise Jeff Buckleys voice but I knew I had to stick with Grace, took about 3 or 4 years but when i finally got it..........

You must love the pogues come christmas time then.

As for fleetwood, have a look at the dance tour on youtube, it was their last tour as a whole.

Watch stevie towards the end, and who says there's no history between em.

Don't think this is about liking Jeff Buckley, more about keeping the commercialist sh*te that is X-Factor from topping the charts over Christmas!

To be honest "the charts" are not really the place to look if you are into real music, which is why i could'nt give a toss who is sitting top.
The best bands/musicians around only really bring out an album every 2\3 years at most. The majority of the charts is full of commercial tosh that is ploughed out as quick as they can write it down.

No, I like his version. Been learning it - got my capo on the Telecaster and everything. Unfortunately those knobbers on x-factor have ruined any shred of non-mainstreamness the song might have had.

John Cale's version, as used in the film, is better
