British Comedy Awards 2008
Best comedy actor - Ricky Gervais.
They ARE having a f**king laugh.
How WRONG is that? I could have sworn I heard someone in the audience calling out "f**k off!" when he was announced. Totally agree. Can't stand the man.

I agree, I watched quite a few episodes of The Office and found it dire, Extras was crap as well, not to mention his so-called stand ups which are awful. I have tried to understand why people think he is funny but he does absoultely nothing for my funny bone so I'll never watch anything he does.

Ricky Gervais was at his best on 11 o'clock show before he did the office etc.. He was ****in hilarious on that.
Probably not the best example but it's pretty funny towards the end
YouTube - Ricky gervais - The 11 O'Clock show WW2 skit
more like it
YouTube - Ricky Gervais - 11 'O' Clock Show
I do like the office.. sort of. I actually prefer the American version lol
Never quite got the point of Extra's but I only watched a couple.

You can't tell me that accusing Ted Danson of masturbating in your spare bed isn't funny.

Add Victoria Wood to your list of crap. And that show with the woman in the ginger wig, Gimmie Gimmie? Vicar of Dribley must be the worst thing on TV, ever.

I thought Vicar Dibley was tosh for middle + aged coach potatoes - but muy sis whoos a fair bit brighter an succesful has liked it for the last 10 years, 42 now.
I think Gervais is another very good observer - but i could never get into the office etc im afriad ,

Hmmm...that's a toughie for me there David. I used to not like R. Brand but watching his Ponderland has had me laughing out loud.
Added: at least he makes me laugh unlike that other bloke...what's his name? Oh yes, Gervais

Yes we do Les, and where was Dara O'Briain in last night's nominations? Mock The Week didn't get a look in and it's brilliant!! I saw DO'B in Rhyl a few weeks back and he was hilarious in his stand up show. Peter Kay didn't even get a mention for his p-take on all the reality shows and surely that was better and the Extras Christmas Special (2007 duh!) which won an award. FIX? Did someone say FIX? Oh yes, that would be me then!

I just finished watching MTW Too Hot for TV and if you want a laugh, that'll do the trick.
Frankie Boyle - Foul mouthed, disrespectful and motherfoofin' hilarious
Russell Howard - Very funny young man, love when he takes the pee in a west country accent.
Andy Parsons - Always liked since he was on Radio2 with Henry Naylor
Dara O'Briain - Funny on the show, hilarious doing standup.
All except AP have new DVDs out, all on the amazon wishlist.
RG - one trick pony
RB - ditto

There's a black guy with big sideburns, been on a few stand up comedy shows recently.
Can't remember his name but he was very funny.
Also, another big black guy (American) who often appears on HIGNFY. Again, very funny.
