Just found out Newquay airport is shutting down for 3 weeks, so there goes our 10 day break to spain!

Haha, yeh, well it did. Its a military airport that had a bit rented out. Cornwall county council has been planning on taking it over for the last 4 years and next week was meant to be the handover but they've cocked up and traffic control isnt up and running properly.

Its still RAF mainly but they've been downsizing for quite some time. They've tried to get the RAF to continue the ATC until their system is approved but the RAF guys have all been posted elsewhere.

So, no ATC, no airport

We booked flights only with RyanAir online. Im guessing we'll get a refund from them.

About 4 years ago myself, a friend and his son flew from Stansted to Newquay.
Took 45 minutes and cost £34 total for the 3 return flights.
A lot more relaxing,cheaper and quicker than driving down.
