Default Google Searching Advice?

Does anyone know how to search for a review of a product on google without bringing up page after page of price comparison sites which each offer a 'review' of the product and which 90%+ don't have any reviews actually listed. I'm not after customer reviews but rather comprehensive technical reviews.

For example if I wanted to find actual proper reviews by a site or magazine related to the field of the product what should I type in?

I find that typing, "Product Name review" just gets me nothing but ads and comparison sites

You can use minus operators to exclude some of the popular comparison sites and keywords like "comparison".

Use a different search engine that doesn't rank shopping sites so high.
