Hey - I used HitchHikers to ultimately prove that God has 13 fingers.
Important stuff you know!

The ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything is 42
The ultimate question (derived from Arthurs sub-conscioius by pulling scrabble letters out of a bag) is "what do you get when you multiply 6 by 9"
Which is clearly 54.
Except in base 13, 54 (decimal) actually is 42 (4x13 + 2)
Therefore God, must have 13 fingers. I think that this explains a great deal about how everything doesn't quite work properly.
I came up with this theory when I was a student... it probably explains why I didn't get a better degree than I did

I always thought it said, "What do you get when you multiply 6 by
7 ?"
Oh dear, all that time when you should have been working on your degree!

Nope, it was definately 6 by 9. The reason given in the book is that the B Ark crash landing there screwed up the program being run by the mice.

I'm surprised you admire him so much, Leslie, he was after all a devout atheist. I remember his argument that man believing God made the Earth just for him is like a puddle believing that the pot hole it's in was made just for it.

I thought that I had said often enough that a person's personal beliefs in that respect is entirely their own affair.
I form my opinion of a person by the way they conduct their own lives and their own personality and how they treat others.
The fact that he may be an atheist does not make me feel any kind of antipathy towards him. I have surely said enough times that you have to follow your own conscience and believe what it tells you. No one can be denigrated for that.
All I ever ask is for similar respect for my own beliefs.
