Can anyone recommend a Storage and Distribution company in the Manchester / Stockport area that specialises in services for internet retailers.

Basically, at the moment I have a unit in which I store all my stock and arrange despatch myself. But i've been looking at these companies who store it for you and arrange despatch and keep stock levels etc...

It would need to be somewhere that deals with smaller independent retailers as i don't need a huge amount of space.

If anyone is in this game and can offer any advice, it would be appreciated.

Can't suggest anybody, but a lot of independant hauliers with storage will provide this kind of service. Were I used to work, we'd take in a couple of trailer loads of toys and drip despatch them back out again.

in my experience 3pl is a pain in the ****, i would not want to get involved,

its heated insured kept dry, and when you charge people a few pence per kilo , they pull their face,
w/h staff are on **** wages so you get muppets in them,

no offence mate, but you migjht be better getting a lock up and trying to get some storage work yourself, then youll see why .

What do you mean by get some storage work myself? didn't understand that?

rent part of it off to someone else,

then youll see why its a specialist thing mate,

nobody wants to pay i steer clear of it if i can, you get can you just nip in the van, or check the instructions on these few boxes, or can you hang back as someones driver is running late.

i cant stick 3pl and im trying actively to get shot of my customers like that,

theres no money in it, as i mentioned before, w/h man, insurance heat light, then people start querying your charges,
