yes,have him now, 5 weeks old, he`s eating loads and i thought it was a bit young but he seems to be settling in well.

called him Hooch ha ha

5 weeks old to leave the Mother is so wrong on many levels. Any breeder allowing that makes me think they have possibly over looked proper care in the parents. Lets hope for your sake the puppy remains healthy.

The puppy had so much to learn, and take, from its Mother in the next few weeks that no human can replicate.

This 'eating loads' thing too means absolutely nothing where a dog is concerned. Food intake should be relatively strict and not treated as a 'all you can eat' buffet = healthy. It also needs to be the correct food.

Watch any temperament issues too now his Mother can't instill in him how to behave.

Pups aren't really supposed to leave the litter until 7-8 weeks, which allows them to be weaned properly, and to form essential skills from their mother. Any pup which leaves earlier than this may (and I stress may!!) develop behavioural problems later on.

But it sounds as though he is eating well, and settling in so.... *fingers crossed*
