Which sat nav?
Im on the lookout for a new sat nav as mine is like 400 years old (navman 510)
Im useless at getting from A-B without one so it needs to be decent but not mega expensive - budget is about £250 max
I like the look of tom tom 730T as it has IQ routes and advanced lane guidence and has europe maps
TomTom GO 730T Satellite Navigation System: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
anyone got one or sugest another must be able to put my own POI on like speed cameras etc

It's not just postcode, you can search by address, in fact they only do postcodes for UK and Netherlands, or that's what's on my One V2.

Garmin any day.Even though I never go to PC World ,I was told they had Garmin's on offer ,but not on display, as Garmin don't supply them with display stands,so went along and yes they had them in the backroom, and bought one that retailed at £180 for £79.99 with Europe and traffic alerts,a bargain. We used it all over Italy for two weeks and was spot on .

It is one of the Tom Toms, isn't it? I bought mine for £140-ish, but now they are much cheaper. Halfords and Argos are selling them quite reasnably, I think. Some have mentioned Aldi too.

Been a TomTom fan for years - still haven't found any unit to better them. I currently have a 720 and a One - both are very good (the One is a little slow, but then it is a much smaller unit). If I was buying a new one today, I would go for the 730 - it will do everything you want.

iq mapping is crap, it still sends you some really stupid routes, but the extras you get with it are good. its easy enough to use and its still got all the good features of the previous models. I got it at £235 about 3 months ago. buy yourself a good paper map to go with it and use it with the tomtom, check your route first and then put it in the tomtom

Well took the plunge got the Tom tom 730T for £230 delivered brand new - had me worried as plugged it into the home dock and it said I was entitled to a map update free (new map came out yesterday )
Anyway after a while it downloaded and installed then the unit said no maps found after a bit of a fiddle it decided to work and so far so good - nice bit of kit - the traffic thing also seems to work fine and picks up signal very quick
Just need a case now dont fancy paying £12.99 though for a propper one
