Question Can I change my doctor?

When we moved I registered the family with the local GP practice and were allocated a GP. The practice have 4 or 5 GPs working there.

I don't like the GP we have. Can I just ask to have a different one? I don't want to ask just to upset them if I am going to be stuck with the one we have been given? dl

Yes you can ask to change your GP. These days though I didn't think it really mattered. We are assigned a GP but I don't think we (2 adults / 2 children) have seen him more than once in the last year or two.

I've never seen my `Official` Doctor in years. Just phone up and ask for the first one I can get to see.

OK guys, thanks. That seems reassuring.

The background being that my daughter saw one of the other GPs the other day and was so pleased that the GP actually spoke to her explaining things and treated her like the educated 22 year old she is. Our default GP just doesn't seem interested. Just counting her £100k and waiting to retire..... dl
