Default The new addition to the Little-Ginge family...

Some of you may recall my thread when we lost our gorgeous Boxer, Ben, back in May.

I don't think I will ever really get over losing him as he was my absolute baby, but we felt the time was kinda right to have a doggy presence in our home again.

Tonight we met a beauty of a little girl whom we all fell in love with, and we have the honour of bringing her home on the 9th November.

I'd like to introduce Ella. At the moment she is only 5 weeks old, but is a darling. The picture quality isnt great as I couldnt get her to pose very well

Ella, bottom right

AWWWWW She i Stunning!!!! FANTASTIC She has all the right colours and markings... Ella will do you proud and is also my nieces name lol

Was there 8 puppies in the litter ? It's good to see the white 1's as "some" breeders kill them off the scum bags as they have problems in life!

I never forget the day we brought our Roxy home pic below! And a pic from a few weeks before... (She is now 18 months!)

I agree that the breeders who kill them off are scum bags but I disagree that whites have any other health problems........ infact if the little research that HAS been conducted is to be believed coloured boxers have a shorter life span and suffer from more illness.

The only negative that whites seem to suffer with is that approximately 5-10% more whites are born deaf but again their is not enough research to conclude what the exact figure is.

Great thread, I is loving the boxer pic's but then I would as I am owned by two, one of which is white and deaf . So far as her being deaf she more obedient than our hearing boxer and responds to sign language brilliantly .

Don't believe everything you read about white boxers, most of it is utter dross passed from one misled person to the next. I have conducted years of research on the net and via the boxer forums I frequent and the nonsense you see people spouting about whites is amazing.

In 8 years I have come across a total of 4 or 5 other deaf whites on forums popualted by owners in the hundreds / thousands that do own or have owned a white boxer.

Just sharing some of what I have learn't and not intended as a dig, I'd rather people had the facts than fiction. If you want a link to research into white boxers just shout and I'll post it up for you.

Here are my two

Molly who is 8 and the brindle hooligan

And this is Tash the white mong aged 7

Cheers

Little-ginge, sxtunning pup by the way!!

Sorry I got a bit carried away and forgot to congratulate you on getting another boxer........ obviously the best breed of dog in the world!

I do not doubt Ella will never replace Ben but I bet she has a damned good try and does a lot of the things that only boxers do that have you laughing out loud, or is it just me that does that ;-)

Cheers

Paul

Trust you, *htb*

Thank you for your comments - I'm so excited!! I've been out today and got her a lead and collar( with identity tag) and her very first toy. Plus a bed... with another 3 weeks to go, god know what else I'll find to buy

The lovely thing is, when we were viewing her pedigree (ancestory) we realised that way way back in her genetic history is the father of our first boxer, who happened to also be the great-great-great-great grandfather of Ben. It just made it feel even more right that each one of our BOxers has some of the same bloodline history

Tell Rosie that if she would like to meet Ella in a few months time when she has grown a bit, I'm sure it can be arranged

Her best mate is a Jack Russell. The last time she came over they were both upstairs and it went very quiet. I crept up there to find Biddy on the landing and Rosie on the top step daring her to try and get past. She's a little bugger!

Sorry perhaps my statement came out wrong. Don't get my wrong i love white boxers and it's good to see a few in the litter. My mum and dad had a white boxer for 9 and abit years till she got very ill and ended up being put to sleep. Broke my mum and dads heart. It just pi55es me off when some breeders kill them off as theres no money with them and don't want to wast money prepping them to sell on. My next Boxer will be a white 1 in years to come. Although there is a white Boxer at Woodgreen Animal shelter at the moment (So i am told!) and thinking of taking my mum along to twist her arm. The history of the dog is genuine to as i have a work mate who works there part time walking and feeding the dogs etc...
