Samsung Omnia - Thinking of getting one, your views?
Hi all,
Its that time of year again, new phone time! I was thinking of the Samsung Omina. The reviews seems fairly good, need to try it out in a shop first. No quite on par with an I-phone but I dont want an 18 month contract and I do want a good camera and a GPS system.
Any comments welcomed (about the phone that is!)
Cheers, Hoff.

What about the N96 or waiting a few weeks for the G3.
The Omina is ok, as long as you like a touch screen phone, personal I can't get on with them it makes it too annoying when you're trying to text and all the time you have to use a screen pen because your thumbs are too big.

Its also the monthly rate.... on a 12 month contract phones like the N96 are very pricey -either a large payment at the beginning for the phone then cheap line rental or a small payment at the beginning and then a large line rental. either way it adds up to well over £500 for the year. I need to decide how much I am willing to pay I suppose.

You can get the N96 for £49.99 and £30 line rental with £140 to spend on whatever you want each month with T-mobile, add £5 and you get unlimited Internet access.
T-mobile wil do the Omina for free, and the i8510 will be $49.99. Oh and the G1 that will be free too on the same tariff.
Pick a phone first I'd say, and then negoaitate a deal with the service provide. You'll find a tariff to suit, but the phone witll be with you for he whole 12 or 18 months.

Hoff, just buy a 2nd hand phone, I am getting a new omnia from someone for £250 and my sim only deal is £20 a month. It works out cheaper than getting it on contract and I'm not tied in so when that HD touch comes cheaper after xmas I will buy one of those. All the benefits of a 12 month contract but no tie ins ever

Seconded! I'm trying to get my hands on one of these beauties as they aren't out in France until 2009 (backwards or what?)
